Kid Cudi entered a guilty plea on a misdemeanor charge of drug possession in connection with a June arrest in New York. According to TMZ, the Cleveland rapper pleaded guilty on Friday to criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree and was sentenced to two days of community service. He must also avoid arrest for the next six months as part of his plea deal and show proof of service at his next scheduled hearing in March.

Kanye West protégé Cudi (born Scott Ramon Mescudi), 26, was arrested on June 11 in Manhattan and charged with felony criminal mischief and possession of a controlled substance after authorities were called to respond to a disturbance involving the rapper and an unidentified woman. The MC has made no secret of his appreciation for marijuana in the past, but earlier this month he opened up about the arrest and his use of cocaine.

"People wanted to know a lot about my personal life and I wasn't prepared for a '60 Minutes' interview every time," Cudi told Complex magazine. "Doing bumps [of cocaine], I was able to get through the day, but then I would smoke weed to calm me down — it was the only way I could get through the day without people noticing I was doing it."

He told the magazine that he began using cocaine to help him get through interviews and that while he never felt it was a problem, there were moment when he felt he was "high-fiving" death.

"It was really just like, 'Man, you got it f---ing going on, and you were about to piss it all away for some bullsh--,' " he said about the feeling he had when he left court after his arrest. "Everywhere I go, people be looking at me like I'm some type of f---ing crackhead now. Nobody wants to have their f---ing name attached to a maniac, to a f---up, so everyone distances themselves."

Cudi's Man on the Moon II: The Legend of Mr. Rager is tentatively due in October.
