OK, so these guys might not exactly be new jacks, but Partners-N-Crime are still on the come up. After building an extensive catalog and collaborations with the likes of Lil Wayne, the New Orleans duo are expanding their fanbase.

Riding the wave of their new banger "Finally Could Breathe," featuring Young Money president Mack Maine, Kango Slim and Mista Meana are currently hard at work on their 10th project, Legendary, set to drop next year. It's an effort they once would have been hard pressed to put together, when their camps warring with each other years ago.

"When we were coming up in the game, Wayne was a little bit younger than us," Slim told Mixtape Daily. "We were on a label at the time called Big Boy and he was with Cash Money Records. And to be honest, both of the labels had a rivalry thing going on. Once Cash Money blew, Big Boy continued to do their thing. They housed Mystikal, Fiend, us, and a couple more artists. At one time, we never looked eye to eye, but as we grew older things began to change."

Wayne helped break the ice when he reached out to the underground vets a couple of years ago offering to record a track together. (The group was also, at one point, signed to former Cash Money member Juvenile's label.) Partners-N-Crime sent Weezy something they were working on, a rockish number called "We Do What We Want To," which eventually landed on their last set, We Are Legend.

The superstar MC liked what he heard and contributed a verse. ("This was a little bit before he got into the same type of music with Rebirth," Meana recalled.) The result was a raucous anthem that helped to push PNC beyond their bayou borders.

Before finishing up their Legendary collection, the group is next scheduled to perform at BAM's 2010 Next Wave Festival in Brooklyn, New York, as part of the Red Hot + New Orleans lineup.
